My name is Valerie. I am currently a grad student in Communication Studies (interested in art institutions and the internet) who thrives in a realm of yummy smells, instant and speedy wifi, and the artists, designers and thinkers who make everything worthwhile. Welcome to my website.

Happy belated Valentine’s day

As you may have noticed, I am very behind in posting - from here until mid-April I am officially submerged in academic crunch-time, aka: three major papers, three jobs and holding-on-for-dear-life.  So you may not hear from me as often until this wave has passed.

We celebrated Valentine’s day with heart-shaped chocolate chip pancakes breakfast (in bed!), surprise roses, and Chinese food. While it may be a commercial holiday, I say V-Day is whatever you make of it. That said, for Sunday dinner Mars decided he loved our new breakfast-in-bed tray as a centerpiece and curled right up and fell asleep. We didn’t have the heart to move him until 5 minutes before everyone arrived.  PS:  While our pictures have made him seem bigger than he is, our petite Mars is still not growing - he will be our tiny, energetic, squirrely fur ball for always!
