My name is Valerie. I am currently a grad student in Communication Studies (interested in art institutions and the internet) who thrives in a realm of yummy smells, instant and speedy wifi, and the artists, designers and thinkers who make everything worthwhile. Welcome to my website.

Creaturely Etsy Finds

Etsy user Celapiu offers Foks scarves.  She/he writes:

Foks is a unique and original Celapiu design. It is a handcrafted fox-shaped scarf, a witty accessory and pro-eco manifesto at the same time.

Not sure how I feel about this handmade etsy find.  Is it made of real wool?  It could make people think about what they are wearing in this cold season - I say this in reference to the scads of people in Montreal wearing fur as a fashion statement and mistakenly thinking they look dignified.

On the other hand, Bailey doesn’t bark creates delightful hand-painted ceramics that are emblazoned with by highly detailed insect friends, such as these ants.  Sinister, but kind of cute at the same time!
