My name is Valerie. I am currently a grad student in Communication Studies (interested in art institutions and the internet) who thrives in a realm of yummy smells, instant and speedy wifi, and the artists, designers and thinkers who make everything worthwhile. Welcome to my website.

Ever confused about the links between feminism, sexism, and meat-eating? Let me help.

I am learning lots about feminism this term in school (verging into topics that include: queer studies, sexuality, gender, feminist media studies), and the experience reminds me again why I love learning. My perspective on the world is changing as I begin to look more critically at media from a scholarly feminist angle, and it is proving to have more of an effect on me than I would have guessed.  Could my thesis topic be transforming at the same time? I won’t know until my exploratory final papers this term happen.

At any rate, I ran into a few incredible (absurd? horrifying? hilarious?) videos that perfectly illustrate the links between gender stereotypes and meat.
