Prague, Czech Republic
Maybe it was because of the cloudy sky that makes colours pop and photographing a dream, but Prague immediately struck me as a really beautiful city. Being in Prague hardly gives me the ability to make many observations about the Czech Republic (or rather, I am at a loss as to what to gage from this touristic hot house), so instead I feel like giving a photo tour of what I experienced. I spent 5 days in Prague, and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
The City

The buildings are all tall, and coloured differently to make it a striking city… this colouring feels natural and not intentionally touristic…
The older way of identifying houses was through symbols, before the new style of numbering:

The Food
I really fell in love with a restaurant in Prague called Country Life - as far as I can tell, it is 100% vegan. Something about the tasty food, the people, the cost, and the ambience made me want to come back every day and hang out. In the morning, they prepare fresh burgers for a very low price made of couscous, or bulghur wheat, or tofu. I loved the couscous one which was mixed with vegetables and red from beets. Otherwise, they have a daily changing buffet full of delicious, healthy, and cheap food! What is not to love?

Can we have one of these in Ottawa?
The People:
I took a free walking tour in Prague (free = tips at the end), which I somewhat enjoyed but felt could have been a lot better. Here is a pic from the tour:

And a few of the wacky sculptures we came across:
Peeing men… complete with rotating pelvis’ … and yes, I think that is a map of the Czech Republic.

Darth Vader?

And luckily, my hosts from Vienna were visiting Prague so we all got together for a meal at the new vegan restaurant Veg Food. Here are my hosts and their very interesting friends:
