Updates from a Chilly City
We are snowed in here, after a huge blizzard yesterday. So much has happened, where to start? I’ve been trying to “get out more” and get away from the laptop, which can be so addictive. Also trying to reconnect with friends I don’t see too often, which involves a lot of Facebook-yammering. Lately I have:
- been to several parties (potlucks seem to be the norm for me these days - they never get old)
- gone ice skating on the longest canal in the world (that happens to be just 5 minutes away from my house)
- gone to an art exhibition and experienced a great short art film
- been experimenting with blog redesign (frustrating process!)
- sent in my last grad school application
- reconnected with someone from high school
- attended a talk at the university by Derrick Jensen
- been experimenting with Twitter and finding it highly amusing
- been sick for the first time in ages….
And now I have a lingering off and on runny nose, just like anyone who normally gets illnesses. It’s good to be reminded that I’m mortal. I rarely get sick, can’t remember when the last time was - probably sometime at the beginning of last year or even earlier.
Best hummus I’ve ever had, bar none.
Chocolate Mint Melties from Eat Drink and Be Vegan - I think the most dedadent cookies I’ve ever made - using Coco-Camino dark chocolate mint bars as CHIPS.
The quote was on my friend’s fridge.
