My name is Valerie. I am currently a grad student in Communication Studies (interested in art institutions and the internet) who thrives in a realm of yummy smells, instant and speedy wifi, and the artists, designers and thinkers who make everything worthwhile. Welcome to my website.

Gah! Redesign woes

Okay, as you can tell I’m having issues with fiddling with my blog’s design. Abandoning the idea of switching to a different template completely, at this point I am just experimenting with different colours. This would be easy if things were just all one colour but the template incorporates .gif images that I have to change before all of the colours will match. And as you can see, not all the colours match. I am doing my best in Photoshop, which I hate, since while I am a perfectly capable person to me the interface is anything but intuitive. I know, I know - I am alone in this sentiment.

At any rate, being the perfectionist I am I will continue to fiddle since it is JUST NOT RIGHT and I can’t really live with this state of disarray. Ranty ranty ranty. Soon this will be resolved and I will hopefully not touch the style again until I have mastered CSS like I am intending to.

Update:  Turned out it was a mix-up with .gif vs. .png and the kinds of depths of colours they can have.  At any rate, what do you think of the new colours?  Too strong?  Should I change it back?  I wanted to have more personality in the design and make it distinctive while still using a common template.
