Today’s delicious green smoothie: spinach + 2 pears (very ripe) + 1 banana. Delicious! I love ripe pears so much - the smoothie ended up very creamy and sweet, but mild.

I’m really glad I wrote that entry about my raw difficulties yesterday - after I slept, I woke up this morning with more understanding. I went into this raw lifestyle very early - I’ve only been vegan since January, and before I was able to settle into a healthy cooked vegan lifestyle I went straight to raw. So I think I need to master a low-glycemic, low fat vegan diet before I can have visions of being 100% raw. Also, I forgot to mention that sprouted beans and lentils do not taste good to me - so if I were 100% raw there is a good chance I would never eat them - and I definitely believe that legumes are essential to a healthy diet. So I will have to eat those cooked. This is all very complex, but bottom line is that I will aim to be mostly raw, with healthy (low fat and low glycemic) vegan foods that will focus on incorporating legumes. I think that’s a great compromise so that I can stop worrying about it. And I will start to experiment with more recipes, which means as a bonus I will have more great photos to share on the blog.
